Guess who didn't have a ball at the Met on Monday? Gwyneth Paltrow.
People's "World's Most Beautiful Woman" dismissed the 2013 Met Museum Costume Institute Gala, a highlight of the social calendar for fashion and entertainment luminaries, as "un-fun" to USA Today.
"I'm never going again," the 40-year-old actress stated. "It was so un-fun. It was boiling. It was too crowded. I did not enjoy it at all."
Paltrow, who wore a pink Valentino Couture gown with a horizontal nude, sheer insert across the front to the event, also revealed that she intentionally did not walk the red carpet with her husband, Coldplay singer Chris Martin.
She wanted to keep their relationship "private," Paltrow stated.
The "Iron Man 3" actress' demure ensemble also clashed with the gala's theme, which was "PUNK" Chaos to Couture." The red carpet showcased an array of bold looks from celebrities, including platinum blonde hair from Anne Hathaway, a Mohawk and Philip Treacy couture hat from Sarah Jessica Parker and a black fishnet Marc Jacobs gown from Miley Cyrus. The sartorial contrast was intentional, according to Paltrow.
"I guess it's punk in that I've gone just totally classic on a punk night," Paltrow reasoned to Vogue.com.
The blonde actress is no stranger to uncomfortable environments. The blonde actress recently revealed to OTRC.com that she "got a little banged up" during production of Marvel's hit film "Iron Man 3," in which she plays leading lady Pepper Potts.
"You do kind of get a little banged up, rolling around," Paltrow said. "Even though broken glass on a movie set is fake glass, it's still, like, broken something with sharp edges, so yeah, we got a little banged up. But it was fun -- it was like all for a good cause."
